6200 Fabric Interconnects
Delivering high capacity and high port density, the Cisco UCS 6200 Series Fabric Interconnects provide the management and communication backbone for the Cisco UCS B Series Blades, Cisco UCS 5100 Series Blade Server Chassis, and Cisco UCS C Series Racks. Supporting Unified Fabric, the UCS 6200 Series provides the flexibility to support SAN and LAN connectivity for all blades within its domain right at configuration time. The Cisco 6200 series are usually deployed in redundant pairs to provide uniform access to both storage and networks – facilitating a fully virtualized environment. Cisco Fabric Extender Technology (FEX Technology) can scale up to 20 chassis in a single unified system without the additional complexity. As a result, the need for dedicated chassis management and blade switches is eliminated while reducing cabling. Read more...
Cisco UCS 6200 Fabric Interconnects provide many features that lower the total cost of ownership (TCO) including additional bandwidth of up to 1920 Gbps, increased port density up to 96 ports in two rack units, and Cisco UCS Manager software which provides centralized and unified management. Other features that contribute to a lower TCO include reduced port-to-port latency from 3.2 microseconds (ms) to 2 ms, efficient cooling and serviceability features including redundant front-plug fans and power supplies, front-to-back cooling, rear cabling, and Fibre Channel and 10 Gigabit Ethernet uplink connectivity with expansion module options.
