Vista’s Advanced Security Tools

You may be aware of the more traditional cybersecurity methods such as strong passwords, multifactor authentication (MFA), antivirus, and patching – all are methods we recommend. However, Vista also uses more in-depth methodologies you may not have heard of, such as DNS Protection, Ransomware Protection, Dark Web Scanning, MDR, and Managed SIEM.

• DNS Protection

  DNS Protection uses a proprietary AI tool to continuously scan over 180 million websites to determine their purpose and content type. Sites that potentially contain malware, ransomware, or scams are flagged to be blocked. It helps create the first line of defense between the "click" from a user and the serving of a harmful web page.

• Ransomware Detection and Remediation

  This is a part of our Datto RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) tool. It provides an extra layer of security by monitoring for the existence of crypto-ransomware on endpoints using a proprietary behavioral analysis of files. Once detected, it will alert, isolate, and “attempt to kill” while our engineers remediate.

• MDR and SIEM

  Both MDR (Managed Detection and Response) and SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) make use of AI to identify anomalous behavior for many types of devices on your networks. MDR and SIEM platforms will notify a Security Operations Center that an issue needs to be reviewed, and if action is needed those cases are escalated to our service delivery team for remediation.

• Dark Web Scanning

  The dark web is a hidden internet with no rules or regulations for illegal and harmful activity. This tool looks for compromised PCI (Personal Credential Information), which is uploaded each and every day. Newly found information on the dark web is a good indication that an attempt to compromise users or systems is eminent. Vista will take action to coordinate remediation steps.
