End-of-New-Service Update for the Cisco Catalyst 2960X/XR Switches

Cisco Catalyst Life Cycle

On October 31st, 2020, Cisco announced the end-of-life and end-of-sale date for the Cisco Catalyst 2960X/2960XR switches. Vista will actively inventory Cisco 2960X and 2960XR switches and components far beyond the October 31, 2022 End-of-Sale date. This means that businesses can still purchase these switches and attach new SMARTnet service contracts through the recently extended date of October 31, 2023.

Anticipating, availability issues as the End-of-Sale date draws near, we have been strategically increasing our inventory positions and currently have hundreds of refurbished and Cisco Excess units in stock.

Can’t get Catalyst 9200 and 9300 switches? You may want to consider the 2960X and 2960XR instead.

Catalyst 9200 and 9300 switches are increasingly hard to acquire and many businesses are looking for alternatives. The 2960X switches are a great alternative to Catalyst 9200 and 9300 series switches that have the “essentials” feature set. If you’re looking for a replacement for 9200 and 9300 series switches with the “advantage” feature, the 2960XR switches might work for you. Reach out to your Vista Account Manager to discuss the best 9200/9300 alternative for you.

What is Cisco Excess?

Cisco Excess is a specially designated product suite offered by Cisco so customers can purchase Cisco approved used equipment more efficiently. The Cisco Excess product suite encompasses virtually the entire portfolio including IP phones, routers, Catalyst and Nexus switches, UCS blade and rack servers, and accessories.
