Have you heard the news? Support for Windows Server 2012 ends on October 10th, 2023. In just two short months, customers will no longer receive security updates, and new hardware and software programs may not work on old servers.
What Should You Do Now?
To ensure a smooth transition, upgrade to Windows Server 2022. This cloud-ready platform provides essential performance, workload flexibility, and new capabilities, including:
- Enhanced, easy-to-use security features
- More containers to rapidly scale apps
- Seamless 'point-and-click' migration support
October 10th is closer than you think! Fortunately, migrating is easier than most customers realize. It only takes a phone call.
Unable to Upgrade?
If you are unable to upgrade to the next version, you will need to use Extended Security Updates (ESUs), which are available for up to three years. Customers can migrate applications and databases to Azure and receive free ESUs, and customers needing to stay on-premises can purchase ESUs for Windows Server 2012. It is important to note, however, that ESUs are only available until October 13, 2026. Microsoft offers guidance for both cloud and on-premises solutions. Learn more here.
